**Documented failure risks:**
- Fuel pump: Fuel pump is the headline complaint across model years: "the most common problem is the fuel pump... from 17 all the way to 21." The presenter also references a recall on the pumps.
- EGR valve sticking open: EGR valve sticking open from carbon buildup at low idle is the second major complaint
- Injectors: Occasional injector failure is treated as normal wear-and-tear rather than a defect; injectors run about $1,000 each to replace.
