**Documented failure risks:**
- High-pressure fuel pump (CM2250 ceramic-plunger / CM2350 steel-plunger): "A very well known issue on the Cummins CM-2250 and CM-2350. There was a TSB and a short campaign to fix this issue. Originally the ceramic plungers in the fuel pumps were failing and taking out the motors. They switched to steel plungers thinking that would fix the issue, it did not."
- EGR valve: "Sticking EGR valves represent a good portion of the failures X15 owners see, much of which can be traced back to extended idle time. A larger issue revolves around high-pressure fuel pump (or injection pump) failure, with a major recall being ordered for them in 2021."
- Front vibration damper (misdiagnosed as injector knock): "Inspect your vibration damper at the front of the engine for for signs of seperation between the inner and outer pieces. It's nonserviceable and can only be replaced... PFP was the Vibration Damper; the rubber isolator deteriated and caused the vibration at mid-ranged RPM's."
- Fuel filter housing / priming system: "Got the fuel filters changed a couple weeks ago so they are new. Truck starts runs 4-5 minutes and then will either rough idle trying to die or when I go to drive away falls flat on its face w/no response from the accelerator, engine hasn't died on me but no power... Leads me to believe it's something in the fuel system so not sure, do I have air in the lines."
- DEF tank top seal: "They had some seal problems on the top of the def tank, on quite a few of the trucks. def would get a little contamination through the bad seal. Def quality should be 32% if you can read it on your computer."
